I had contacted Peta2 on twitter about the kitten and they told me to email them a picture of athena and details, I didn’t even think they would respond, I am so glad I went with my gut though! :) hopefully I get an email back soon!
So far there has been $297 raised to help Athena, only $203 more to go, thank you to everyone who has helped. I hope people continue to help.

Sunday night I found a 5 week old kitten crying in pain near the underpass of a highway near my house(someone threw her out of their car) I took her home, fed her, cleaned her up, and made her comfortable. While I was doing those things I noticed she has a broken leg, a huge gash on her eye, and i took a tick off her.
On monday I called the humane society and left them a message, but I never got a call back.
So yesterday I called them until they picked up, I told her about the kitten I had found and they told me that if I brought her there, they wouldn’t be able to do anything for her since her leg is broken and they would put her down. So I called Latham Animal Hospital looking for help but they couldn’t really do much for her. They gave me this woman’s number who run’s a kitten rescue called “Kitten Angels”, so I gave her a call, she came and picked her up an hour later and brought her to their vet. They have been giving me updates about Athena (the name I gave the kitten, who knew you could grow attached to one in 3 days) the last update I got was last night, that she was staying over night at the animal hospital and would be looked at in the morning. I’m still waiting to hear more about her today, I will post every time I am updated.

This kitten Athena is the sweetest, she always cuddled on me, licked my hand, and she loved this little gray mouse toy I gave her, she would play and hold on to it. she also liked when I would sing to her, and would rest while I’d do it. Then would look at me and meow if I stopped, my mom said she acted like a person. She is really strong, she’d always try to get up, and walk on her broken leg. (that’s why I named her Athena)
I really hope Athena makes it, gets healthy and is given to a wonderful family, I would hate for her to go through this all over again. I don’t understand why whoever did this to her would even do it, she is perfect.

I personally don’t appreciate this at all. That kitten is 5 weeks old and if I had the money to help her I would, I won’t even be getting this kitten back now that they have her, I did the right thing by giving her up after I found her- I had her since sunday late night. I contacted as many people as I could trying to get her the help that I knew as going to save her life and not end it. I volunteered at a Humane society for 4 months 2 years ago, they don’t have the money to put into a kitten with a broken leg, they told me she was going to be put down and if you met her you would of gone with your heart like i did and did the right thing, not the selfish thing. I am going to be helping out with donating myself with the money that I do have. oh and not all vets do payment plans anymore, its hard to find one who will do them at least around where I live…
